Is there software required for mac os x?

i have the basic card reader, not DOD, and it is plug and play on my Mac, no software required. works fine

Great product! As a military member sometimes we have to take work home and it might be difficult to get things done because we use our CAC cards to access almost everything but this product sure help me get the things I needed to get done at home. Thanks again.

Are drivers needed for this to work on a Mac?

I can only say it worked out of the box in Fedora Linux. I haven't dealt with Macs too much, but over the years Macs I have used have always supported smart card readers out of the box. I expect it will work without drivers.

I have not used it much but so far it is the answer to our needs , loads and down loads sd cards very fast and helps with the problem with the Air Mac 11 that does not have a sd card reader built in. Our Air Mac 13 has a build in card reader . This is the answer for all the people out there that are using an Air Mac 11.…

I am in the military and use my CAC to log into military sites and digitally sign documents. I read somewhere that all the architecture for a CAC reader is already embedded on a Mac but I can't seem to make it work. I love my Mac and would really like to be able to do EVERYTHING on it instead of having to revert to Windows for certain things. I have seen Macs being used in the workplace in the Army while using a CAC reader and card, but no one has been able to tell me how it was done. If anyone has any advice or can point me in the right direction, I would really appreciate it.
