Minidisc Reader For Mac

I recently purchased a sandisk 1gb compact flash card for camera. Included was a minidisc with software for rescuing deleted files on the flash card when my camera or a card reader is hooked up to my computer. Will the minidisc work in my slot-loading superdrive on my powerbook? I think not, but when I explained situation to sandisk support to be able to download that program for free they said it would work. I don't think they know what a slot-loading drive is. I know a tray-loading drive has a depression for minidiscs but there isn't a tray for my powerbook drive and no way to keep the disc centered when inserting it into my computer.

Sep 13, 2010 If you choose to use another Mac, you can do this with a program like Roxio's Toast, or Disk Utility (you will first need to create an image in Disk Utility, then burn the image to disc). At a previous job, I used to have to edit mini-disc-recorded audio on my Mac. What I did was connect the Mini-Disc player (a Sony model) directly to the audio-in analog jack. This allowed me to use Audacity to capture the audio. I've had good success connecting the optical out from the minidisc to an M-Audio Traveler USB interface, and then grabbing the tracks using Audio Hijack Pro from Rogue Amoeba Software on the Mac. Audio Hijack will split the tracks for you.
